Forged Steel

Forged steel valves are created by a process known as “forging.” Forging is developed based on heat energy to hard materials of steel, followed by mechanical pressure to further convert the steel into a completed product. This method is used to create exceptionally robust and durable valves. However, only certain metals may be utilized in forging. This technique is used to create smaller, more specialized valves. Large forged steel valves must be manufactured in parts. The parts are then welded or flanged to form the full valve. Here’s how forged steel is utilized as a valve material.

Strength and Durability

Forged steel is known for its exceptional strength and durability. The forging process involves shaping the steel into a solid state, resulting in a dense and homogeneous material with improved mechanical properties. This strength is crucial for valves that operate under high pressure, ensuring they can withstand the forces and stresses encountered in industrial processes.

Resistance to High Pressure and Temperature

Forged steel valves are capable of handling high-pressure and high-temperature applications. Industries such as oil and gas, petrochemical, and power generation often require valves that can operate under extreme conditions, and forged steel provides the strength and resistance to meet these demands.

Versatility in Applications

These valves are versatile and can be used in various applications, including those involving different fluids and gases. They are employed in chemical processing, refining, water treatment, and more industries, where diverse media may be present in the piping systems.

Fire Resistance

Forged steel valves are often chosen for applications where fire resistance is critical. Their ability to withstand high temperatures without compromising structural integrity makes them suitable for fire protection systems and other applications with fire safety requirements.

Compliance with Industry Standards

Forged steel valves often comply with industry standards and specifications, ensuring they meet the necessary performance and safety requirements. This is particularly important in industries where adherence to specific standards is mandatory.

Precision Machining

Forged steel can be precisely machined to meet tight tolerances and specific design requirements. This precision is essential for creating complex valve components and ensuring proper sealing and control of fluid flow.
