Engineered Hangers

Engineered hangers are specialized support devices used to secure and support various types of pipes, conduits, and ducts in industrial, commercial, and residential applications. These hangers are meticulously designed and engineered to provide reliable support while accommodating the specific requirements of the piping system.

What are Engineered Hangers?

Engineered hangers are typically constructed from high-strength materials such as steel, stainless steel, or specialized alloys to withstand the weight and stress of the supported piping. They come in various configurations, including clevis hangers, loop hangers, strut hangers, and roller hangers, each suited to different piping layouts and load requirements.

They are rated for specific load capacities, considering pipe size, material, fluid contents, temperature, and environmental conditions. This ensures the hangers can adequately support the weight of the pipes and any additional loads, such as insulation, during normal operation and under transient conditions.

How Do They Work?

In addition to providing structural support, some engineered hangers incorporate vibration isolation features to minimize vibrations and noise transmission through the piping system. This is especially important in applications where excessive vibration could damage equipment or affect the comfort of occupants. Many engineered hangers are designed to be adjustable and configurable, allowing installers to accommodate variations in piping layout, alignment, and elevation. This flexibility is essential for proper support and alignment, especially in complex or custom piping systems.

Engineered hangers are installed at strategic intervals along the length of the piping system, typically at points where direction, elevation, or support changes are required. Proper installation is crucial to ensure the hangers provide adequate support without causing undue stress or strain on the pipes.
